Time for a forearm stretch! This is a great stretch to help relieve discomfort due to typing all day on your computer!

This video has not been modified for injury or chronic pain issues. Please talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise routine.

We are going to be doing a simple forearm stretch, you want to skip this exercise if you are in any acute pain in your shoulder, neck or wrist.

This is a great stretch for those that type a lot and are dealing with repetitive stress discomfort in the wrist and arms.

We’re going to be in a quadruped position, but we’re going to to have our fingers facing backward about shoulder width distance apart.

We’re going to take a breath in to prepare and on the exhale lower our bum down towards our feet, keeping our palms flat on the floor. I definitely feel the increase of the stretch as I lower my bum down. On the inhale, return back to the starting position. We want to make sure that we’re careful not to schlump down into our shoulders and stress out our necks.

I’m definitely staying engaged in my upper back muscles so that I don’t schlump and I protect my neck. I also feel a bit of core support to protect my lower back.

Again I’m going to exhale into the stretch. I’m going to lower my bum towards my feet. Feel that increase in the stretch as I’m exhaling and then inhaling coming back in.

I’ll repeat that until I feel like my range of motion has increased. Oh, now I notice I can move down more, so I feel like that’s probably enough. I may do one more. Then that’s it. I’m set.
